importance of education in our society

Knowledge is Malala Yousafzai's courage, Einstein's perspective, Steve Job's innovation, and Nelson Mandela's determination. It is the single most powerful tool that is capable of changing the world. Education is a progressive tool for bringing a massive change in society and to gain knowledge. One educated hand can help a hundred other hands to read and write!

We must understand the importance of knowledge in life and must stop restricting it to academics, books and the marks you receive. It’s about understanding right from wrong and having the learning you need to stay afloat in the present society. It helps to develop your perspective on the world around you and pushes you to think both innovatively and thoughtfully about wide range of subjects. Education allows us to process the information we receive on a daily basis, make conclusions and inferences based on what we know. These are some benefits of education.

Education plays a big role in the character development of an individual. It exposes you to different situations and healthy discussions. The reason why schools are important is not because of the fact that there may not be job stability, rather they allow you to build social skills, problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and creative thinking skills. You are exposed to different cultures, traditions, and practices and this increases your knowledge about your surroundings, the people around you, and this indeed helps you understand them.

Education helps you to plan your future especially when it comes to finances; it helps you in your financial planning and plays a major role in personal development. In the past few years, we can see a lot of technological developments in every field. The fact that there are cures for cancer and other deadly diseases is because people are gaining knowledge and utilizing it for the betterment of society. All this is possible only because people are getting educated and using their knowledge to further make positive changes.

Newton’s three laws of motion are now taught in colleges and schools. The Vietnam War and how British took over Africa are all well-known subjects and are taught till date. All this was only possible because people passed on their knowledge. The fact why education is important is because it is a way by which people of different cultures, religions, sectors come together during their initial years at schools, and colleges. Thus, it helps them understand each other better and stay in mutual harmony. We learn how to recognize and utilize our skills and use them for a job or business. These skills can be used for the betterment of society, our country, and the world on a larger scale.
